It was strange.
Hearing the faint buzz of his phone, (Y/N) flipped opened his phone and checked through his text messages.
I thought you would want to hang out today - Raven
(Y/N) blinked in surprise.
Are you saying you want to go out on a date? - (Y/N)
Yeah. - Raven
Well... I'm patrolling right now... and we usually do that sort of thing during the evening. - (Y/N)
Alright. I was just thinking you would text me earlier. - Raven
Does that mean you want... to go out on a date then? - (Y/N)
Ah. Can I take a rain check? I'm not feeling too good. It's part of the reason why I texted you in the first place. - Raven
Oh? Do you need any help? I'll come over if you need me. - (Y/N)
No thanks. - Raven
And that was the last thing his girlfriend text him before he heard the wail of sirens in the distance. Standing up abruptly from his comfortable seat on a park bench, he knew what he had to do.
"Looks like I have some work ahead of me."
Then again of course he would have work ahead of him. He was a super hero. Heroes never rested.
Not when they had the power to apply justice when the weaker man could not.
