Seasonal differences in temperature, salinity, and dissolved oxygen were observed during the study. The concentration of average dissolved oxygen (DO) was 7.13 (±0.59) mg l-1. The Çanakkale station had the highest DO concentration (9.79 mg l-1) in April 2009. The Lapseki sampling site had the lowest value (3.68 mg l-1) in July 2008. Mean salinity was 25.52 PSU (±1.30) for all sampling sites and times. Considering average salinity for the seasons, the Dardanos site had the highest value (28.87 PSU). Mean sea water temperature among the stations and sampling times was 16.02°C (±5.82) for the sampling area. The Kilya sampling station had the highest sea water temperature (26.77°C) in July 2008, and the lowest sea water temperature (8.87°C) was recorded at the Gallipoli site in February 2009. Table 1 includes all the physical and chemical data measured in the sampling area.
