The design of fermentation conditions and medium composition is vital for enhancing the efficiency of production in submerged culture. Cultivation parameters, including inoculation density, pH, temperature, the rate of rotation and medium composition have been reported to affect the efficiency of fermentation of G. lucidum. However, few investigations have considered the optimization of the fermentation conditions while considering interactions among various operational factors, especially when the mycelium formation and the polysaccharide production were considered simultaneously as the objective function.
