A common problem among smart phone users is a broken front panel, the glass screen on the front of the phone. Breakage can occur as a result of an accidental drop or other impact to the front of the phone. It is possible to fix this problem without buying a new phone. Here's how. The first thing you need to do is purchase a front panel repair kit, available online for about $50. When you receive the kit, take all the items out of the box and place them on an even work surface. Next, use the small screwdriver from the kit to remove the two screws from the dock-connector end of the phone. Then place the suction cup from the repair kit firmly on the center of the broken front panel. Pull gently and carefully on the suction cup, and pull up on the panel slowly. Do not pull or cut the phone's cables. After you have successfully begun to separate the front panel from the phone, gently rotate the panel to about a 45 degree angle. Then pull straight up and the panel should release. Now you can set your new front panel from the kit into the phone's display assembly. Finally, tighten the screws to set it firmly in place.
