Representativity of subsamples was

Representativity of subsamples was investigated by spiking aliquots
of 5 g of mussel samples with10 lg kg1 of each target PAH
and then analysing different sample amounts in the interval 100–
800 mg. The solvent volume (lL)/sample amount (mg) ratio was
kept constant and equal to 1 in all the experiments. The amount
of subsample used for extraction did not affect the extraction yield
in the selected interval.
