History
Khao wang or phra nakhon khiri is a historical park in Phetchaburi. khao wang is archaeological site old. King rama 4 have satisfaction to was built as a summer palace;therefore,ordered Chao Phraya Phetnisai Srisawat is chief construction. When completed in 1860,King rama 4 was named "Phra Nakhon Khiri" but locals called "Khao Wang".
Landmarks
Most are the western architecture,such as
1.Mahasamanaram temple. That common name is "Khao Wang temple". On the fourth side wall have drawing picture of Kraw-in-kong,he used to write image perspective,It is the use of color and light to draw a dimension.
2.Pra Keaw temple or Phra Kaew Noi temple,the temple is located in the palace. As well as the Phra Kaew temple in Bangkok.
3.The tower Chutchawal Wiangchai,you can enjoy views of the surrounding city of Phetchaburi.
Sightseeing information
Open to visitors daily from 08.30 to 16.30. Admission is 20 baht for Thailand people. Tourists can visit the palace,by walking or electric tram,Tickets price for adults 40 baht,children 15 baht.
And every year there is a festival Phra Nakon Khiri. There will be performances and fireworks at night. By will be held every friday of february every year,for a period of 10 days and 10 nights.
