to Innovation Apple is a multinational company that has created technology that each of us rely upon to co-ordinate our lives. Our Focus Since the technology market is of such a significant size, we have decided to focus our research and investigation on the smartphone and tablet market; namely the iPhone and the iPad. Increase in Competition. So, is Apple still Innovating the way that it used to? Arguably not... But does the global giant still need to innovate in such a bold way? Maybe or maybe not... inc. The question we have addressed is absolutely current; new developments have influenced our research almost every day. We have also researched Apple's competition, in order to better understand its position in the current market. Did Apple react sufficiently to assure continued sales?
Was the flood of competitors dangerous to the technology giant?
Were the loyal Apple customers satiated by the companies innovation strategies? The iPhone 5, Apple's flagship product, did not impress the media. iPad releases became too frequent without major innovative changes. The question is raised as to whether or not Apple's unique position makes it resilient to strong competition. It has a strong brand, dissimilar or perhaps even unique in the way it's idolised. The Apple "eco-system" greatly increases customer retention levels Providing technology for education also helps Apple secure future sales. Our Conclusions... If Apple wishes to maintain its position as the market leader, it will need to re-invent its innovation strategy. It cannot rely solely on its previous successes.
