First time in Pattaya and pretty excited to see what it had to offer us. This hotel is situated about 1 minute walk from the beach. Entrance was in a side-street with less traffic. Reception area was nice and cool and we were warmly greeted by an english speaking woman called Pornchanok (hope I spelled her name right). She was all smiles and very service-minded. In fact, they all were. After a short misunderstanding in our online booking, we were given a new room, and much bigger than we expected. The hotel took on all responsibility (even though it wasn’t their fault) and made our holiday perfect. The few times we needed some xtra service i.e. lack of toilet paper in our room, they were always quick to deliver at our door.
They cleaned the room every day, and changed the towels every day too. To our surprise, they also changed the sheets/linen twice a week.
This hotel is kinda 3 hotels in one. Three separate buildings where 2 looks like a cruise-ship and the third like a regular building.
Our room # 3204 was in the Beach-Wing, with a sea view. It had a king-size bed and an xtra bed for our baby (well... she’s twelve, but still). The room was spacious and had high standard with excellent air-conditioning. Balcony had two comfy chairs and space enough to bring out the third chair from our room so our daughter was comfy too.
Breakfast was served in the adjacent hotel (the "cruise-ship") restaurant just across the street, and it was excellent. Much better than what you should expect from a hotel at these reasonable price. Only better breakfast I ever had was at a Mariott-hotel for twice the price (also in Thailand 2013).
The pool in the Beach Wing was ok, but pretty small and mostly shadow as it was "hidden" inbetween the buildings. Excellent for those who prefer shadowy conditions. But we were free to use the pool at any of the 3 adjacent hotels (all A-One-hotels), and our choice was the cruise-ship-pool which was much bigger, very clean and had more sun and sunbeds. It was a one-minute-walk from the reception in our hotel. Very convenient.
The gym was the biggest one I ever saw at any hotel and very well equipped. The gym had staff to assist you at all times if needed. Really great.
All in all there were hardly nothing to complain about at this hotel. The reason I give 4stars for the comfyness in the room is more of a personal taste. I sleep better in soft mattresses. The wonderful king-size-bed had a very hard mattress. Not to my personal liking.
The local area had a main road between the hotel and the beach, and it gave off some noise and smell. Nothing the hotel can do about that as all the 20+ beach hotels down the street suffers the same.
Call the city major. Tell her to close that street. That’s my advice :)
All in all... we will definitely stay at this hotel the next time we visit. This is really value for money.
A great thanks to Pornchanok and her colleges for making our holiday a great one.
