In the Northeastern province of Maha Sarakham sits the riverside villages of Ban Kok and Ban Nong Phue. These communities are located in Nongbua, Kosumpisai District where similar villages along the Chi River, are built as a congregation of homes and families to make a tightknit community. The surrounding properties are used for agriculture and mainly rice farming, and private gardens for each family’s use. Although these are 2 separate villages, they share common community issues related to the health of the river, the traditional farming practices and lack of government information and support.
