During the first treatment stage the paraprofessional continued to say “no bang” but now pulled a soft terry-cloth did over the child’s face each time a response was made. The bib was removed contingent on 5 seconds without spoon banging. This first treatment also lasted 16 days. Then another 16-day baseline period was initiated and finally another 16- day treatment stage followed. A series of follow-up observations were made beginning 6 months later. Visual inspection of the behavioral record showed that the first treatment phase resulted in an abrupt reduction in response frequency that response frequency began to increase during the second baseline stage but then reversed (decreased)during the last treatment stage. Spoon banging was not observed during any of the follow-up sessions.
