we conductedaseriesofpaired t-tests onchildren’spre-andpost-testscoresfortheindividualTargetwordsthatwereincluded
on theProductiontest,usingBonferronicorrectionsformultiplecomparisons.Thesetestsrevealedthatchildrenproducedmore
information unitsperwordatpost-testfor7ofthe8TargetwordsintheRealisticthemethatwereincludedontheProduction
test andfor12ofthe13TargetwordsintheFantasticalthemethatwereincludedontheProductiontest.Thisindicatesthat,
even ifchildrenalreadyknewsomeoftheTargetwordsatpre-test,theygainedmoreinformationaboutthesewordsasaresult
of ourintervention.
