The technical infrastructure supporting the Go-Lab objectives builds on the outcome
of previous European research projects such as PALETTE, in which an open access
platform was developed to support online communities of practice, ROLE (Bogdanov
et al., 2012) in which responsive open learning environments enabling recommendation
(El Helou et al. 2010) and aggregation of cloud resources, peers, and Web applications
were devised, and SCY (de Jong et al., 2010) in which scaffolding applications and virtual
labs were developed and validated.
