It is useful to institute change-freeze times when only minor updates can
be performed. Change freezes typically occur at the end of a quarter and the
end of the fiscal year. Figure 17.1 is an example of one company’s changefreeze
announcement that is sent out to all SA staff and department heads.
It includes a change-control form that is part of the change-management
process. Some companies call this “network quiet time,” as in Figure 17.1.
