The next evolution in wireless communication, called 4G networks, is entirely packet switched and capable of 100 Mbps transmission speed (which can reach 1 Gbps under optimal conditions), with premium quality and high security. Voice, data, and high-quality streaming video are available to users anywhere, anytime. Pre-4G technologies currently include Long Term Evolution (LTE) and the mobile WiMax.
