Preparation of plant extract
The leaves of Lonicera japonica were cut into small pieces
and dried in a hot air oven at 55 ◦C. The dried materials were
ground and macerated in 95% ethanol for 3 days and filtered.
The marc was remacerated in 95% ethanol for 3 days and filtered.
The filtrate was pooled and evaporated to dryness under
reduced pressure and yielded 18.68% of EJ-ext. The thin layer
chromatography (TLC) fingerprints of the extract were recorded.
