Task Analysis:
1. Using the skills obtained in copying letters (see the prerequisite), begin by presenting just the letters for a word that has been selected to be taught. Take the letters the student has created, arrange them into the word, and show the student the result, explaining the name of the word created.
2. Continue the concept of Step 1 for the remaining 19 words targeted to be taught.
3. Reduce the use of copying letters to prompting the student to copy an entire word when shown a randomly selected sample. Provide physical guidance, where needed, but fade this assistance until only a verbal request is needed.
4. Continue the concept of Step 3 for all of the remaining 19 words.
5. Provide random presentation of the sample words to be copied, gradually adding more samples per request until five samples are randomly given to be copied.
