As social media continues to gain in popularity and use, it is important for each of us to use it appropriately with respect to our employment with ExxonMobil.
With the growing use of online social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, personal blogs and photo-sharing sites, many of you have taken to these channels to communicate with your personal and business contacts.
Extending the reach and impact of ExxonMobil’s community activities, marketing communications and other published reports through employees’ sharing via their social networks is encouraged, but only after the information has been made public. For example:
- Posting about the company’s CSR activities as part of our workforce involvement program
- Posting about an Esso/Mobil product launch / promotion to boost its publicity
- Posting about ExxonMobil’s Energy Outlook to promote energy literacy
