It can be concluded from Table 5, that the Indian waste has a high organic matter content, which makes it suitable for processes such as composting/vermicomposting and anaerobic digestion. The C/N ratio falls between 20 and 30 and to a great extent this ratio is suitable for composting process (Eiland et al., 2001). The awareness for organic manure is increasing rapidly in developing world that will in turn increase the demand for the manure produced from MSW (Garibay and Jyothi, 2003). If not managed properly the problem of methane emission a major green house gase and chances of explosion restricts the uses of anaerobic digestion technology.
