The last collection designed by the late Alexander McQueen was shown in Paris this week. The show was a quiet and graceful in its elegance. McQueen had obviously taken his inspiration from medieval times. The show was spearheaded by McQueen’s trusted team of artisans including Sarah Burton, considered to be the iconic designer’s right hand. The 16 outfits shown had been 80 percent finished at the time of his death.
How it saddened me to write the first line of this story. McQueen’s edgy, avant-garde style will be missed and his Doc Marten’s won’t be easily filled.
