Organosolv lignins were extracted from lignocellulosic raw materials (Miscanthus x Giganteus and Empty Fruit Palm
Bunch) and condensed tannins were extracted from grape by-product in an aqueous medium using different catalysts.
Resin formulations with total polyphenolic contents (tannin and/or lignin) ranging from 70% to 95% of the total resin
solids content were employed for the elaboration of particleboards. Mixtures of glyoxylated lignin/tannin and pure
tannin were produced and tested. The importance of the nature of the basic reagent used for the extraction of tannins
