The Government of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria does not yet have national legislation directly or indirectly related to the definition and delimitation of outer space. However, there are decrees that cover several aspects of space activity, which include:
•Presidential Decree No. 02-48 of 16 January 2002, as amended, on the creation, organization and operation of the Algerian Space Agency
•Presidential Decree No. 91-342 of 9 October 1991, ratifying the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies
•Presidential Decree No. 06-225 of 24 June 2006, ratifying the Convention on International Liability for Damage Caused by Space Objects, signed in London, Moscow and Washington on 29 March 1972
•Presidential Decree No. 06-468 of 11 December 2006, ratifying the Convention on Registration of Objects Launched into Outer Space
•A draft decree concerning the implementation of the Convention on Registration of Objects Launched into Outer Space and the creation of a national register for the registration of space systems launched by our country.
