For example, by understanding that intrateam conflicts may often stem from interpersonal, dyadic, conflicts, managers can work to more actively contain and resolve dyadic conflicts before they have a chance to infect the rest of their team. Relatedly, when conflicts progress to infect higher numbers of team members, managers may be able to improve their handling of the conflict situation by understanding the differences in dynamics between teams with partial conflict involvement and full levels of member conflict involvement. Hopefully, bringing attention and understanding to the process of conflict contagion may provide an opportunity to positively impact the daily lives of organizational teams.
