The purpose of the quantitative, nonexperimental, ex post facto research study
was to examine the relationship between key dimensions transactional and of
transformational leadership styles (Bass & Avolio, 2004) and ethical leadership behaviors
(Brown et al., 2005) of public school administrators in the independent school district in a
southwestern state. To analyze each of the hypotheses and to answer the research
question for this study, descriptive, inferential, and exploratory statistics were used. The
statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS 20.0 software. The level of significance,
or alpha, that was used in this study was 0.05. In a multiple regression model for
statistical analysis, there are statistical assumptions and variances in each individual test.
The most important assumptions and ways to test for variances in this study were normal
distribution of errors and variables, independence of observations, and the linearity of
