The questionnaire included demographic information, such as age, gender, marital status, quantity of children, employment status, and educational level. To evaluate knowledge of the RF and WS of ischemic stroke, we asked the following open-ended questions: (1) name at least 3 important risk factors for a person having a stroke, or what things or circumstances can increase the chance of having a brain attack? and (2) for you, what are the most important symptoms or manifestations in a person experiencing a stroke? We also included 3 open-ended questions related to the likelihood of having ischemic stroke, which are described in Table 1.
