was reflected at that time for several reasons:
• Romania became an EU member in 2007 and it needed to adopt the
EU legislation. Therefore the EC had to approve the classification devices
and the methods applied in each member state.
• In2006, theECchangedthe formulausedtocalculate thereference lean
meat percentage in a pig carcass. At that time, the two classification devices
(OGP and FOM) used on the Romanian market were calibrated
based on the “old” reference formula (developed by the EC in 1994).
