Mahiru had finally found the one thing that made Kuro act up and it was glorious.
After the pair had bathed, eaten dinner and played some games the two had fallen into a relaxed state until Mahiru decided that it was bedtime. Never one to ignore a chance to sleep, Kuro nodded only to tell Mahiru, “but I’m too sleepy. So, you need to carry me.”
He wouldn’t have minded but Kuro showed no signs of turning back into a cat and when he asked, he was treated to a really childish, “too much effort to change…”
Gritting his teeth, Mahiru took a breath and prepared to yell until it occurred to him that all he had to do was make Kuro want to change and for that, a plan quickly formed in his mind.
Looming behind Kuro, his hair shadowed his eyes from looking down and his mouth stretched into a wide grin while he held his hands up and twitched them. “Hey, Kuro,” he said slowly and enjoyed the way Kuro slowly turned and looked up to him, full of worry. “I’ll make you regret saying that.”
And then he dove.
Pouncing on Kuro, Mahiru locked his arms around Kuro’s chest and yanked backwards until he was on his back and Kuro was knees to chest, parallel to him and blinking in utter confusion until Mahiru locked his legs around Kuro’s waist, forcing Kuro to stretch out his legs.
“Mahiru, what are you doing…?”
He was probably pretty lucky that Kuro didn’t try and out-strength him, he could thank Kuro’s innate laziness for that but really that’s what made what he was doing even more worthwhile. Having Kuro be so pliant meant he could enact operation kittify the servamp with relative ease.
It also helped quite a bit that the pair were in their nightwear; shorts and vest tops, because it meant Kuro had no hood to hide under when Mahiru went on the offensive and nipped at his reddening ears. He wasn’t quite sure why he expected this to work but he had high hopes when Kuro shivered.
But instead of changing, Kuro tilted his head as though giving Mahiru permission to keep going and suddenly the feel of it all had changed. He was drawn to that pale flesh and lacking thoughts, Mahiru leaned in and kissed the skin.
The sound Kuro made was nothing short of arousing.
Tempted, he tightened his grip and kissed along the back of Kuro’s neck and watched the blush creep up the skin with mirthful warmth. He went back to kiss Kuro’s ear, nipping at it again and at that, Kuro began to twist. He relaxed his muscles, letting Kuro turn to face him on the floor.
Lifting a hand up, he brushed Kuro’s hair from his face and leaned up to catch Kuro’s lips, feeling too happy when Kuro kissed back while moving one of his knees between Mahiru’s legs. He didn’t know how this had gone from something so innocent to something so not but hell, he wasn’t complaining.
Circling his arms back around Kuro’s shoulders and resting his hands behind Kuro’s head, he tilted his neck and Kuro bent down to kiss it. He smiled, watching with a strained gaze and hummed when Kuro pulled back and almost shakily got to his feet.
“S-So. Bed. You said bedtime right? Yeah. I’ll- I’ll meet you in there…”
Mahiru almost laughed when Kuro visibly gulped and sort of dragged himself towards the bedroom. It wasn’t quite the plan he was going for but who was he to complain if it worked and besides, somehow he figured this was much better.
Waiting for the door to open and shut, Mahiru waited just a little bit until Kuro’s voice echoed through the apartment with just a hint of a needy whine in his tone and when he heard that, Mahiru sat up and felt the spot where Kuro’s lips had just been on his neck and he thrummed with happiness.
This was what it was like to be partners. This was what it was like to be equals. This, Mahiru thought simply, was what it was like to be in love.
