King Mongkut Memorial Park of Science and Technology was established in 1989 to commemorate King Monkut (King Rama IV), who is regarded as the Father of Thai Science Study. The museum was built on the site where Rama IV himself visited to witness an eclipse of the sun he forecasted in 1868. The compound of the park comprises many spots as follows:
Astromony Buildings, a group of three-storey buildings connecting to one another; namely, Phanthiwathit, Phanphinit Chantra and Dara Thatsani Buildings, as well as, 11 learning bases.
Wa Ko Marine Life Museum is a exhibition of marine life and underwater tunnel providing a chance to learn and witness the differences of the life residing in different levels of depth.
Butterfly Garden is the place for exhibition more than 20 varieties of local butterflies reside. It provides knowledge of the butterfly lifecycle and displays examples of stuffed butterflies for study purposes.
