Handling an electronic ticket is significantly easier and much more common . As of May 2008,100% of all tickets issued by IATA member airline are electronic Figure 6.3 .Since the ticket is stored electronically,passengers only need to present their identification documents to obtain their boarding passes at the check in counter.Electronic tickets have improved the efficiency of the industry .Passengers who are holding on to electronic tickets are able to check in online , by phone,or using the check-in kiosk.The increasing use of the automated system not only creates an environmentally friendly image for the industry but also reduces the cost
