However, marked difference was observed between leaf explants of different age. If data were only examined based on leaf age, explants from fully developed leaves had on average (44.67%, 2.46% and 1.10%, respectively and correspondingly) significantly higher PEPS, MNS/E and SFC than those from undeveloped leaves (34.50%, 1.92% and 0.66%, respectively), suggesting that the fully developed leaves were superior in shoot regeneration capacity in comparison to the undeveloped ones.
