Conclusions
Heat transfer phenomena during ice slurry production in an
SSPHE operating in batch mode have been studied. A 7 wt. %
NaCl brine was used as a base solution for the ice slurry
generation. Two different scraper types, rigid and surface
adaptable, were compared for different scrapers rotational
speeds (0.1 s1 to 0.8 s1) and coolant temperatures (DTlog from
0.5 K to 2.5 K). The major findings are as follow:
