At 20 ◦C, ethylene production by detached pak choy
leaves (Fig. 2) remained relatively constant (and similar
to the quantities produced during wounding at harvest)
although therewas a trend for ethylene production to increase
as leaves progressively yellowed. Interestingly,lamina width and lamina length had a significant effect
on the production of ethylene by the detached pak choy
leaves (P = 0.034 andP < 0.001, respectively).
