Rinse apricots and cover with water. Boil 10 minutes. Drain, cool & chop.
Mix butter granulated sugar and 1 cup flour until crumbly. Pack in pan and bake for 25 minutes.
Sift cup flour,baking power and salt together. Gradually beat the brown sugar into the eggs, add flour and blend. Blend in the apricots, vanilla and nuts. Spread the mixture over the baked layer.
Bake 30 minutes or until done
Cool. Lift foil out of pan& remove foil
Sprinkle powdered sugar or top. Cut into bite size pieces
