The temple, also called Wat Tai, is located along the river Mae Klong in Kanchanaburi town and next to the Jeath War Museum, therefore there is also some tourists here. The temple buildings are huge and at the time of our visit the venerable abbot of the temple Phra Thamkunapon had just passed away. There is also some old gates and old temple buildings with beautiful stucco work on the compound. The Jeath war museum is a replica of the bamboo huts which housed the prisoners of war during the occupation. "jeath" stands for Japan, England, Australia/America, Thailand and Holland.
