Bi2S3 and CdS QDs sensitized TiO2 solar cells were prepared
using the SILAR method with different configurations of the QDs
deposition. The configuration TiO2/CdS/Bi2S3/ZnS reached a record
h of 2.52%, a FF of 53%, and a photocurrent of 9.3 mA/cm2. These
parameters are due to an extended absorption towards the near
infrared part of the spectrum, and a favorable energy level
arrangement. Our results show that Bi2S3 is capable of increasing
the efficiency of QDSSCs using a low toxicity material that plays a
similar role as PbS for other architectures.
