While awaiting the arrival of the machine, it become known to Queen Victoria, who sent, as a royal gift, a small manpowered coin production machine, which arrived at the end of 1857. The coins produced from this machine included one Bath, two Salung, Salung and Fuang coins. This series was called “Ri en Bannakarn” (Royal Gift Coins). The coins bear in the obverse the radiating mongkut mark flanked by muti-tiered Umbrella of State on the background of branches. The reverse shows the Elephant inside Chakra design. There are stars lining the inner edge on both sides to denote value. One star standing for one Fuang. However, finally, the cessation of use of this machine was ordered because only a small number of coins could be produced per day.
