4. Bomb Search
• A combined search team comprised of 1 security officer and 1 maintenance staff will be conducted. A search will be conducted whenever a threat is made depending on the following circumstances:
- The bomb search team shall search for the bomb at the designated location. If no bomb is found, then a general search of the building will be conducted.
- If location is specified but detonation time given is less than 15 minutes. No immediate search will be conducted. Instead, all persons on the affected floor and 2 floors immediately above and below will be evacuated.
- If location is not specified but time is given. A general search will be conducted but to cease 15 minutes before specified time.
- If location and time are not given. In this situation, a general search will be conducted.
• The search shall be systematic, proceeding from floor to floor. Each personnel will report to the Command and Control Center once a particular area is completed. In this way the Crisis Team can monitor the progress of the search without leaving out any place. Each team shall carry along a walkie talkie set.
• After a thorough search of the building and no bomb is found, the Crisis Team, after consulting police and relevant authorities, with decide to call off the search.
Action to be taken if a bomb or suspected bomb is found:
- Any suspected incendiary device or bomb found, as a result of the search, should NEVER BE TOUCHED OR HANDLED in any way by the Search Team. The person who finds the bomb will notify the Crisis Team and await further instructions.
- The Crisis Team will instruct the Telephone Operator to summon the police. One Security will wait for their arrival and lead them to the scene.
- Once at the scene, the police will take over the operations and Crisis Team will furnish all the relevant information and assistance required.
