In a second step, a stepwise logistic regression analysis adjusted for sociodemographic variables and initial levels of nicotine dependence was carried out to examine predictors of smoking cessation at 12-month follow-up in the group who had quit smoking by the end of treatment (n = 175). The results showed that participants who smoked fewer cigarettes pretreatment (OR = 0.91), with lower scores on Depression (OR = 0.96) and Aesthetics (OR = 0.96), and with higher scores on Modesty (OR = 1.08) were more likely to be abstinent a year after the end of the smoking cessation treatment (Table 2).
