Meanwhile , the developed country and developing countries are experiencing increasing rates of overweight and obesity and the new WHO report indicated that 1.6 billion adults were overweight and more than 400 million adults were obese, and at least 20 million children under 5 years were overweight and similar trends showing increasing overweight and obesity prevalence also can be seen in Thailand. For, the data from the Thailand National Health Examination Survey (2003–2004) revealed a significant increase in the prevalence of overweight and obesity, from 25% in 1991 to 48% in 2004 in a sample of Thai adults aged 35–59 years.(Jitnarin N .,2004)
