To address this issue, we propose a street data-based
augmented reality service for the mobile environment in this
paper. The proposed model consists of the real-world layer
and information layer. When a street is viewed via the
camera through the real-world layer, queries are made to
search for relevant information to the street. The information
layer shows user location and relevant regional data in
relation to the street data in an intuitive way, and the user’s
moving path is taken into account when displaying the
retrieved information. When queries are made on a street in
our proposed model, the retrieved data is laid along the street
so that the user may check out the regional data as a
pedestrian to address the issues above. At the end of this
paper, we present our implementation of the proposed
service model for ‘Aenigol’, a traditional dining district in
Goyang-si of Gyeonggi-do in South Korea, and demonstrate
the convenience utility of the proposed model.
