To whom it may concern,
My apologies, but this email is to inform you that I will no longer be working for Media Kids.
I have found the company as a whole to be incredibly disorganized, with many promises that were left unfulfilled. In my opinion, MK would really benefit from some type of liaison who could relay information to the foreign teachers at school, as we are often left in the dark regarding important events, class cancellations, etc. Being kept "in the loop" with these things would result in the MK teachers feeling included like part of the team, and not outsiders looking in uncomfortably.
During orientation I was essentially kicked out of my room (even though was previously told we would have one more night in Bangkok) and told to travel to Chonburi alone, forced to navigate a country I've never been to with a language I don't speak at nighttime. As you can imagine, it was an unnerving experience which unfortunately foreshadowed the miscommunication that would pursue within the company. Not to go into too much detail, but I was given little to no advanced knowledge regarding things I felt were important, such as class observations and wearing certain outfits for various events. Additionally, I was provided with no guidance or curriculum to follow even though I was told at orientation that I would be given one eventually.
I truly am sorry for any inconvenience this will cause and hope that this relationship can end maturely and amicably. In no way do I blame the consultants, as I believe they are managing way too many people for the small amount of them that there are working for MK. I do think that Media Kids should focus on employee happiness over company growth. Simply put, there are too many employees and too little consultants- creating a lot of unsatisfied employees that the consultants can't possibly keep up with.
I do wish to keep my apartment, if possible, and will be contacting my landlord tomorrow in hopes of doing so.
Regards,
Taylor Jesseman
