Reengineering effectively removes the artificial boundaries put there by department structures. Instead of being focused on a single aspect of the delivery of value, a process team is formed which assumes total and complete ownership of the process. Teams may be structured in many different ways:
• As case teams which handle recurring tasks.
• As process or virtual teams -- for as long as required.
• As one-person teams.
Regardless of the exact nature of the team -- which should be dictated by the process needs first and foremost --responsibility and rewards for results need to be spread equitably throughout the entire team.
