and family relationships in terms of organisation,
communication, responsiveness and social networks, had lower
levels of dental decay and better oral hygiene compared to children
with poor family relationships. Interestingly, in terms of
parenting in particular,the studies that have been conducted in
this area were unable to demonstrate an association between
specific parenting styles and children's caries experience and adolescents'
oral hygiene behaviours
