DUTIES
The project engineers’ main duties are :
- To stimulate and facilitate the proper planning of the seasonal and weekly diversion requirements by the water Management Section.
- To maintain good working relations with the dam operation authorities (if any)
- To set and publicize the start and end of each irrigation season
- To supervise the weekly water allocation in the entire project area.
- To decide on allocation scheduling in case of water shortages or excesses.
- To supervise and actually check the actual water distribution in the project area
- To supervise the preparation of the seasonal project operation evaluation report and to use this report internally and externally in order to realize improvements.
- To represent the project towards other authorities.
- To maintain good contacts with the framers and their organizations and to motivate them to make use of the available irrigation facilities efficiently.
- To support framer’s organization and to provide them training and irrigation.
- To set procedures for handling emergency situations.
- To motivate his staff and to arrange regular refresher training activities.
