Stage III
• Supports on-going training that enhances the skills of others.
• Acknowledges others’ strengths and provides them with a motivating balance of positive recognition and challenge as they progress.
• Delegates tasks that demonstrates trust in others’ ability to perform.
Stage IV
• Spends one-on-one time with direct reports to get to better know their capabilities and needs and to coach them toward success.
• Identifies the capabilities needed to support the success of the organization and develops the kind of individuals who will meet future as well as, current needs.
•Empowers others by giving them opportunities to demonstrate leadership and stretch their abilities to build self-confidence to take on greater challenges.
Stage V
• Champions the importance of developing the organization’s talent for the future.
• Is a strong and consistent role model for empowering and developing others at all levels to build the organization’s capabilities.
• Recognizes and rewards managers who effectively develop others.
