Particularly areas with high density of small water bodies are important, because they can support landscape connectivity as stepping stones, mainly for amphibian [28,29]. The density of small water bodies is three times higher in Leczna Lakeland than in Sobibor, reaching 1.48 per km2,which is almost the highest value of average density of ponds of different landscapes of Europe, usually reaching a value of about 0.3-1.5 ponds per km2 [9,30-32].
