Wat sothon is placing that popularity of Chachoengsao. I believe in Wat Sothon when I do something that hard then I prayed to Wat Sothon but sometimes I wonder why many people to believe in the Wat Sothon that may be because it was old, or is it a supernatural.
Wat Sothon is temple that very sacred Buddha statue because Wat Sothon has Buddha statue that since at Ayutthaya Period during the reign of King Phra Borom Tri Lokkanat. The Buddha statue has a lap width of 1.65 meters and height of 1.98 meters. Legend says that there were three bronze Buddha statues floating down from Prachin Buri. They appeared at Sampathuan Chachoengsao. Most of the villagers live along the banks of Bang Pakong River and canals. The people seeing the situation quickly tied the three bronze Buddha statues with ropes and tried to pull them out of the water but failed. The three images continued floating downstream. Effects to retrieve by the people were unsuccessful the first time, until a wise man built a small shrine. A ceremony performed to welcome the Buddha statues, Phra Phuttha Sothon. They prayed and invited him to be enshrined at Wat Sothon as can be currently seen. Wat Sothon is important for people in Chachoengsao so there are two annual fairs celebrating Luang Phor Sothon, in the middle of the 5th and 12th lunar months (around April and November) in every year. Phra Phuttha Sothon is important in history because Buddha is the historical evidence which shows the prominence of religion in Ayutthaya.
Wat Sothon is important today because many people believe in Wat Sothon and many people respects to Wat Sothon. This is what also told many people still believe in Wat Sothon and also the beautiful attractions of one of Chachoengsao.
