I was taken to Terre Haute, a very, very high, maximum security prison.
Which had a fearsome reputation.
It tended to be just for very hard-core criminals.
There’s razor wire everywhere, towers, just a lot of heavy security.
I was absolutely terrified.
I was put into what they call ‘the hole’.
The hole consists of a bed, no blankets or anything.
There’s no view of the outside.
The sheer discomfort and isolation of it is difficult to cope with.
Just in a thoroughly hopeless situation.
I was afraid of the future, very afraid of what was going to happen.
