The Bad News:
Unfortunately, seven projects were not accepted for Writing Project #7, because of missing the hard deadline. All others coming in between noon and 1pm are considered as late. Up to now, we've had "soft deadlines," but it was made quite clear today that no papers would be accepted after the hard deadline.
However, if you check your personal record on The English Depot, a note was made that you did submit a project, even if it was not accepted due to coming in after the hard deadline.
Rationale:
I am trying to get you ready for the final exam, which requires writing under a time limit. There are few cases in your academic career in which you have unlimited time to complete a project; almost all have deadlines, especially in relationship to theses, dissertations, research projects, and journal publication deadlines.
The Good News:
The better you know and practice the four steps of the writing process (creating, organizing, writing and polishing), the better you can perform under the pressure of exterior requirements such as deadlines, writing formats, and research criteria.
Welcome to the real world of academic writing. It's tough, even sometimes unrelenting, but the rewards are great. Best to be trained now than face failure in the real world of research and publication.
If you wish to discuss any concerns about this particular project, my door (email, Facebook, etc.) is always open!
Sincerely,
Aj. John
