4. Conclusions
Lucigenin CL can be enhanced in the presence of semiconductor QDs in alkaline solution, and CdS QDs exhibited the best enhancing effect on CL emission. The fluorescence, UV–vis absorption, and CL spectra revealed that CL resonance energy transfer can occur between lucigenin and CdS QDs, and the excited CdS QDs is responsible for the final light emission. Ascorbic acid could further enhance the CL intensity of lucigenin/CdS system, based on which a novel CL method was developed in the sensitive detection of ascorbic acid with wide linear range and low detection limit.
