Some women with NVP thought that this process might
adversely affect their baby and they experienced a sense of guilt
and maternal attachment (McCormack et al., 2011; Meighan &
Wood, 2005). Some of them could not cope with NVP and wanted
to terminate the pregnancy (Meighan & Wood). Similar to
Meighan & Wood' study, one woman wanted to terminate the
pregnancy because of NV in this study, although she did not do it
because she considered such an attempt a sin. This finding shows
that women’s beliefs affect their health behaviors.
